Franklin Graham, son of evangelist Billy Graham, declared that he is leaving the Republican Party after the Republican-led Congress passed a budget last week that continues funding for Planned Parenthood.
Mr. Graham's renunciation of the GOP echoes the disgust that many Believers feel after watching a series of expose' videos that revealed Planned Parenthood's practice of harvesting organs and tissue from aborted children.
According to The Washington Times, Mr. Graham declared himself as an Independent this week.
“Seeing and hearing Planned Parenthood talk nonchalantly about selling baby parts from aborted fetuses with utter disregard for human life is reminiscent of Joseph Mengele and the Nazi concentration camps!” Mr. Graham continued. “That should’ve been all that was needed to turn off the faucet for their funding."
The federal government provides $528 million in funding for Planned Parenthood — about 40 percent of the organization’s annual budget.
